Hey Dean, Just wanted to say Hi and that I saw the ballad of Buster Scruggs the other night on Netflix and really enjoyed it. I was inspired to find you after watching Being John Malkovitch with my son and seeing your name as Carter Burwell’s assistant. James (my 17 year old son) is fully into following music scoring and Carter is one of his favorites so he got a kick when I told him I was an old friend of yours. I’m still plugging away at the Newcastle Museum (where I saw you when you were last in Newy) and maintaining Fish Fry, Pow Wow and Yes Commissioner in gigs around the town. Hope this finds you well Dean and working playfully and just thanks for some great movie experiences that you have worked to provide for us. Gee I bet Abbey Road must be a buzz to play at. Hi Justin! I enjoyed the Ballad of Buster Scruggs as well. A couple of friends told me that Yes Commissioner were gigging and I am so thrilled. Some of the same venues still exist for Yes Commissioner and fans! A great gig I bet – is everyone still dancing? I went down the rabbit hole into film music and have been here for a long time. It has been a trip – I play guitar only on indie projects. All of Carter’s jobs use players from the opera or philharmonic, or the vast cohort of incredible musicians here in NYC or London. I have two boys 10 (Zeke) and 12 (Jackson), and a new little girl (Kylie) just 2 years old, and I squeeze in work in between kids! I was in Cairns a couple years ago, but will next time be in Newcastle. Keep me posted! – Dean
