Carter Burwell has two movies slated. “Good Fortune” directed by Aziz Ansari and “Honey Don’t” directed by Ethan Coen and produced by a Working Title Film. it looks like “Good Fortune” will be recorded in London at Abbey Road Studios with Simon Rhodes engineering, and “Honey Don’t” to be recorded in New York at Power Station at BerkleeNYC, with Alex Venguer engineering. Which reminds me of the guitar method books by William Leavitt, “A Modern Method For Guitar Volume 1 and 2.” These books put me through some paces at the time (1981) with Phil Jack at Music Headquarters Newcastle, Australia. It was great fun, I watched Phil trim his beard quite a bit, and eat Chinese food, and become the biggest seller of Peavey equipment in NSW, and we mostly played “Too Much Fandango” by Ritzi. I studied Don Andrew’s Plectrum Method. And once I was no longer a guitar newbie, it took years, and knew how to trim a beard and order Chinese food, my learning the trade with Phil became learning the fingers, the fortunate experience of studying classical methods with master classical guitarist Steve Cowley. Steve evoked the dedicated artist and I played Lobos and others slowly for a few years, thank you Steve! And not forget Phil Sketchley who prevailed to teach me theory, and harmony, and celebrated my original compositions for theatre in Australia. Shout out to Miss Ingles of Lambton High School who challenged my nervous disposition and celebrated my creative music learning.

I hear Phil Jack’s son has a music shop in Carrington, NSW Australia beauty mate! Next time I am in Newcastle I will be in with my cash! See you then, I will be looking for a great deal and 1985 prices. My first item will be a new Mesa Boogie 60w for $999. Let’s go.

I have developed a finger style of playing that draws on a life time playing guitar. Please check out @stuffyforsummer Instagram – where I have over 150 improvised clips of original music with some Marley and Miles now and then. I play now and then in New York. I am still a Melody Refugee.
