Bio: Dean Parker from Newcastle, Australia. After a decade of work in music and theatre in Australia Dean Parker moved to New York City, USA in 1996. Soon after arrival he started assisting film composer Carter Burwell. The synergy was good and remains so many years later. He continues to assist Carter Burwell on over 50 film music scores. Dean has a family which includes two sons and a daughter. He is active in public education policy and has served as an elected education advocate for the Bronx, New York City as well as a stint as an education research assistant at Columbia University. Dean completed a Masters Degree in Public Administration at Pace University and graduated with a thesis specializing in understanding the notion of transaction cost economic theory and lessening the burdens of government. He continues to present at conferences, write theory and is working on papers for publication. Dean has made a contribution to film scoring in New York City having helped pioneer new orchestral recording venues and working in the finest studios in NYC and London.
